"Rick Hendren at Home Remodel & Repair provided us with a quote the same day that he came out to look at the work we were needing. Renovate 1-car garage into a bedroom and a pantry. Insulate attic. He supplied us with a professionally presented estimate and sat down with us and went over everything that he was going to do that was included in the quote. He arrived to start the renovation on the date promised and completed the job AHEAD of schedule! He made sure that all papers were filed with the various government/city agencies. When inspectors came to approve what he was doing, he always received a good report. Each day he went over what he was going to be doing that day and kept us apprised of things as he was going. He consulted with us and gave us ideas of ways things could be done that we had not even thought about. He did everything ON BUDGET - did not ask for one dime more than what he had in his proposal! This was so amazing! The end result was a large beautiful bedroom with laminate flooring and a huge walk-in closet with custom shelving and big picture window. He built a pantry and installed a drop-down staircase going up into the attic. He gave us some storage space in the attic, and insulated the whole house in the attic. With the balance of what was "left" of the garage - he built a floor and stairs and now we can just open a door and get right to our freezer. I cannot say enough about how wonderful it is to have found Rick! After bad experiences with 2 other contractors in past years, we were scared to even begin a project like this. Rick made it all so easy and produced such a quality end result that we will never look any further for a contractor! We currently have him doing another job because we are so pleased with his work. "My two-car garage caught fire on Saturday, December 10th. Rick Hendren, from Home Remodel & Repair came in the next Tuesday to look at the job. By Friday he had permits, a dumpster set and the work began. My garage was built in 1968, so there was a lot of stuff in it. Rick and his crew were very respectful of my possessions and kept as much as they could to be cleaned and returned to me. I was amazed at how fast they filled three dumpsters. The roof came off, and was back on in a two day span. New electrical and lighting was put in and the inside was painted. Besides the new roof, the garage needed new siding and gutters. Rick was able to work with me to do the whole garage, and not just the two sides the insurance would cover. When my personal belongings came back, I was pretty impressed. I had quite an assortment of nuts, bolts, screws, nails, etc. I had used old tin cans like you used to get with the plastic lids to store them all in. Well, most of them were melted and warped during the fire. So Rick found matching plastic containers to store it all in. He built new shelving in the garage, and even put an attic access in. He took some of my old tools and license plates that I had collected over the years and hung them on the wall. Overall, they did a great job. I first met Rick when the JSL Clubhouse had a water pipe break and he willingly and promptly repaired the ceiling and wall damage. A short time later, Rick accepted the position for a $250,000 renovation project on the JSL Clubhouse. Taking on this project with a 50 year old building and a specific timeline was certainly a challenge. Working with a large group of strong, creative women was his next challenge. The project began in late April and we held our reopening party and ribbon cutting in mid September. Rick did an outstanding job. He was thorough and patient.
